Institute of Physics hosted a delegation from the Rezekne Academy of Technologies and Riga Technical University

A team of scientists from the University of Tartu (UT, EE) had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Rezekne Academy of Technologies (RTA, LV) and Riga Technical University (RTU, LV) at the Institute of Physics at UT. The visit focused on showcasing the cutting-edge capabilities of the Laboratory of Thin Film Technology and exploring opportunities for international collaboration.


One particularly exciting discussion is centered around the development of innovative nanostructured camouflage textiles for use in clothing, tents, and blankets. These textiles will render humans and vehicles invisible to infrared cameras while also being lightweight, providing a significant advantage.
This research is part of grant No. RTU-PA-2024/1-0091 under the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility-funded project No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/003, titled “Implementation of consolidation and management changes at Riga Technical University, Liepaja University, Rezekne Academy of Technology, Latvian Maritime Academy, and Liepaja Maritime College for the progress towards excellence in higher education, science, and innovation.”
Our mutual goal for the coming year is to publish at least two papers, laying the foundation for future collaboration on upcoming projects.
We are excited about the potential impact of our joint research and eager to see where this collaboration will lead!
